It's the simplicity of line that first attracts the attention to the bolero. This style of jacket creates a fresh new look, one that is distinctive and classy. The three scarves are inventive and easy to make.

In the Studio - 11

This smart blouse will always be in vogue. It has an unusual collar design that flatters most any neckline. The waistband fastens with a buckle, check out your stash for a special one.
The back has a pleated yoke and a band that gathers at the lower edge of the bodice both front and back. The long pockets end at the waist and have a hidden inset pocket underneath. Generous sleeves end just above the elbow.

In the Studio - 10

The curved front bands set the direction for this jacket design. The front is divided into two sections with overly and pocket options. Back is slightly flared. Views A & C are lined. View B is unlined with long sleeves and trims on the front band. On all views, the finished sides are overlapped. View C has a notched detail on the front bands, sleeve bands and pockets.

In the Studio - 9

View A is a simple design using only one pattern piece. By adding two more pieces, View B evolves into an entirely different look, one that can be worn loose, layered or belted. View C top has drop shoulders, long or short sleeves and revers. For a casual or dressy garment, consider View D that has a bateau neckline and a clever pocket detail.

In the Studio - 8

Skirts, Skirts, Skirts! Include this perfect garment in your wardrobe plan. View A is tailored and the basis for Views B, C, D, with many options. View B features two bias triangular shapes that are sewn into the side seams, then tied in a square knot. View C has a contrasting overly out on the bias and has two soft pleats at the side. The loose apron-like panel buttons at the left side. View D also begins with the straight skirt and ends in a contrasting or matching ruffle at the bottom. View E is full wrap skirt with many darts at the top edge to control the shape.

Folds and edges has three distinct looks. View A has an origami-type collar that can be folded and worn in a variety of ways. View B has a lined and folded front band that extends beyond the hem. View C has a triangular front section for a flattering diagonal line. The clever, topstitched sleeve can be added to any jacket or shirt on a future project. Any view can easily be made into a vest.

In the Studio - 6

Diagonal lines are the main design element of 'in the studio-six'. They appear on the front and side seams as well as on the collar, sleeves and lower bands. For a simpler version, see View B. Both of the jackets are unlined.

The two vests repeat the diagonal lines for a flattering style. The vests can be lined or bound with bias.

In the Studio - 3

View A is a simply designed, lined jacket that has an easy style about it. Two buttons at the top and rows of topstitching gives it the tailored look many of us enjoy. (Lining optional) View B, on the other hand, adds more detail with shaped inserts in the two part sleeve and a shaped front edge. A pull-over blouse ends slightly below the waist. It features pieced sleeves and lots of topstitching similar to the jacket.

Asymmetry, what a concept! The vest consists of four different shapes that come together on the shoulders and fasten at the back and on the sides. Create an incredible vest wardrobe with this mix & match pattern, each one unique. The companion skirt has the same shape at the bottom of the center front as the vest. There are several options with the skirt, as well. This design takes versatility to new heights!

In the Studio - 1

This is a very loose fitting unlined coat or long jacket. View A features contrasting bias cut front panels that drape and fasten to the shoulder seam with a button and ties on each side. the cuffs and center back panel are also cut from the contrasting fabric. The front panels on view B are lined and a shaped collar adds just the right tailored detail. Cuffs start in the sleeve seam and end by wrapping around the gathered sleeve, then fastening with fabulous buttons.

The Big Easy - #339 -- Unlined Loose Jacket

This unlined loose fitting jacket has a large, soft collar that frames the face and can be fastened in a variety of ways. The funnel-like collar, View C, stands away from the neck and buttons on the center front. This jacket has rows of topstitching, raglan sleeves that roll up, a choice of pockets and only 3 main pieces.

pick a pocket - #338 -- Loose Fitting Jacket

This loose fitting jacket has two collar styles, optional piping in the sleeve seams and side back shoulder pleats. The incredible pockets that extend past the hem, are sewn on with the shaped tabs and connected to the side with a tie. The shapes for all the details are squared or rounded to create the essentials.

A sophisticated jacket that will take you anywhere. The curved seaming, front and back, flatters the figure. The jacket has a choice of raised neckline or a shawl collar with button closures. Front & Center - #335 -- Collar and closure choices for jacket design

The focus is on the front and center on this jacket design. The back and sleeves are all the same, however, three collar choices create many options. A variety of closures are the main area of interest, ranging from simple loops to an elongated bound buttonhole...to a 'zipped' buttonhole for that large special button.

What A Sport! - #333 -- A casual jacket

If you want a casual jacket for most any occasion...this is it! A & B have front and back yokes, the perfect place to embellish. View B features an unusual collar and cuffs. View C has a choice of hip or fingertip length, with a set-on elasticized band and two collar choices. Many more ideas and options inside.

Classy Coat - #328 -- Simple, easy and comfortable

This loose fitting unlined jacket or coat is so easy that you'll want to make several for any season. The front of jacket folds up to form a pocket. The funnel-type collar may be worn folded, if desired, or make it with no collar at all. The faux cuffs add sleeve interest and the half dozen assorted pockets help you carry it off! Consider using polar fleece for the jacket. The coat design is super for a raincoat!

Suitable Threads - #332

A lined tailored jacket has a contrasting collar that can be worn two ways. The pockets have a double flap, one of contrasting fabric to match the collar and sleeve tabs. The straight skirt, in two lengths, has elastic at the waist and a double pleat at the front seam. It's the details and the long, lean lines that will make this a plus for your wardrobe.
