• What are they?

The Designer Templates are a series of 12 garment outlines that suggest new ideas for imagined fashion projects based on the Design & Sew Pattern Collection.

• Why do I need them?

Anyone who wants to design and make a garment with a fresh new look can learn a lot by experimenting with these templates.  The design details are especially important to help make your next project a one-of-a-kind.

• How do I use them?

Cut out the templates along the lines indicated using an X-acto knife or small, sharp scissors.  Use any of the templates to superimpose over pictures of landscapes, prints in art books, line drawings or any other designs that appeal to you.  Wonderful designs magically appear as you move the template across the page. Keeping a journal or sketchpad is a great way to record some of these ideas for future inspiration.

• Who needs them?

I would recommend them to anyone who wants to go beyond the “stick to the pattern” concept and really have fun coming up with some unique ideas.  Sewing teachers may want to have their students purchase a set to use as springboards for creative ideas.

Sewing groups might enjoy sharing how each member used the templates for project inspiration.

• When should I use them?

Whenever you have the urge to create something new, something with flair, something with pizzazz…today may be the day!

• How can I get them?

The templates are printed on card stock, 5 ½” x 8 ½” and are packaged in a button-tie plastic folder.  Each packet of 12 designs retails for $10 and $2.00 s & h
